Chris Bullard
September 21, 1948 - September 14, 2006

Chris R. Bullard, 57, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, September 14, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Overland Park, Kansas, following a heart attack. He was born to Raymond and Letris Bullard on September 21, 1948, in Ft. Worth, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Maxine, and their three children, Jennifer Dennis, Christopher and Parker, all of the Kansas City area, and also by his mother; two sisters, Rebecca and Jill; and one brother, Kevin, all of Texas; and two grandchildren, Vaughn Dennis, 2 years, and Liam Dennis, 2 months; and by his son-in-law, Paul Dennis and daughter-in-law, Mali Bullard. Following graduate school, Chris served as Campus Minister at Southern Arkansas University, Magnolia, Ark., Education Minister and then Senior Minister for the Overland Park Church of Christ from 1977 to 2000 and as senior minister for the Northland Mission Church, Kansas City, MO., since 2000. He authored six books and was a popular guest presenter at several Christian universities. Chris established The World of Jesus Institute to promote a deeper understanding of the cultural, political, religious, and geographical world in which Jesus lived and taught. He was an adjunct professor for the Jerusalem Center for Biblical Studies, Israel. He made more than 20 trips to the Holy Lands to broaden his own knowledge and host spiritual searchers on their journeys to the life and world of Jesus. Chris had a passion for leading people to a closer relationship with God. He was a genuine Biblical scholar and master teacher. He held a bachelor's degree from Harding University in Searcy, Ark., two master degrees from the Harding Graduate School of Religion, Memphis, Tenn., and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, Calif.  See gallery 6.
